A: Due to changes in our diagram xml files, diagrams created in ioGAS 7.0 cannot be loaded in version 6.3.1 or earlier.  There is a way for users to open 7.0 diagrams in older versions of ioGAS – see below for required steps:

 

  1. Open the diagram XML file in an editor such as Notepad ++. ioGAS 7.0 allows us to make diagrams containing different axis types (free and geochem) so we need to check that the diagram axes are all of the same type. For example, both axes will need to be constructed from Geochemical Calculations (or Free Calculations). If they are not then the diagram cannot be opened in 6.3.
  2. If the axis types are the same, then change the top-level diagram element name to have the same prefix as the axis types. For example, if trying to open an XY Diagram then the top-level diagram element name in the 7.0 diagram will be “XYDiagram”.

 1. If both its axes are free axes, i.e. FreeAxis, then the diagram element name should be changed to “FreeXYDiagram”. Also, the closing element should be modified to have the new name, e.g. “/FreeXYDiagram”.

 2. If both its axes are geochemical axes, i.e. GeochemFunctionAxis, the diagram element name should be changed to “GeochemXYDiagram”.
